ABOUT THE ROLE

The Data Foundation team is a unit of our central data team and focuses on supporting the infrastructure of data warehouses by ensuring reliable, timely and accurate data, as well as enabling self service capabilities. Projects range from improving data warehouse architecture, building data marts from raw sources, creating testing capabilities on our models, defining and ensuring conventions and best practices or educating stakeholders on how to use our tech stack.

As an Analytics Engineer in the data foundations team, you will own, build, and improve core data models end-to-end. You will work on data warehouse architecture and research solutions that improve our infrastructure to provide clean, lean and accurate datasets.

YOUR DAY TO DAY INVOLVES

• Own our core data pipelines end-to-end, from ingestion in our data lake to consumption in a data warehouse model
• Improve our architecture (snowflake and dbt) based on what brings the most impact to cost reduction and speed, applying software engineering best practices
• Help optimise data warehouse performance
• Define data quality rules, standards, and metrics
• Close collaboration with data platform team and business stakeholders

• At least 4 years of engineering experience with an analytical mindset
• Orientation on personal and professional growth, you never settle with what you have
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
• Skilled in prioritisation and effort estimation
• Knack for research and passion for industry best practices
• Solid understanding of relational databases and pipelining principles
• Experience across all stages of the data pipeline: ingestion, transformations, mart creation
• Experience with our tech stack is a bonus: S3/Snowflake/Airflow/Python/DBT
