Background & Purpose of the Job
The Product Development Laboratory Technician provides formulation support for the development of key household cleaning products. You will support product development related work streams for on time and in full delivery of regional innovation, renovation, quality improvement and cost optimization projects. This involves a combination of skill in the laboratory, creative problem-solving skills, and a passion to bring truly differentiated products to market.
What You’ll Do
Support the development of household cleaning products by preparing lab batches, conducting stability testing and measuring formula physical attributes
Conduct experiments utilizing standard test methods and maintain detailed records of laboratory experiments
Lead laboratory operations including maintaining clean lab space, ordering of lab supplies and raw materials, management of the chemical inventory and waste systems, calibration and servicing of lab equipment
Assist in the preparation and shipment of experimental prototypes
What You’ll Need To Succeed
Associates or Bachelors Degree in chemistry, biology or related scientific field with 1-2 years experience in practical laboratory setting a plus
Ability to maintain a neat lab notebook, work cleanly and independently in the lab
Strong organizational, verbal and written skills with great attention to detail
Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines within specified time constraints
Passion for working in a values-based company

Working Conditions
~75% laboratory / 25% office environment

Laboratory setting may require:
handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds
standing and/or walking for more than four (6) hours per day
daily activities that require repetitive motions
Pay: The pay range for this position is $53,400 - $80,200. Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.
Bonus: This position is bonus eligible.
Long-Term Incentive (LTI): This position is LTI eligible.
