We operate as ‘One D&A’, made up of Global engagement and expertise teams, based in our key hubs including India, the UK, and US, and local UniOps in Market D&A teams, based in our key markets. Our key objectives as D&A are to:
Set the Unilever data strategy and lay the foundations to maximise the value of our data. Deliver the connected Data Platform to accelerate access to integrated and trusted data at scale across the company for analytics and decisions. Embed core data and analytics capabilities, leading to automation, AI, and Big Data to boost Unilever’s decision intelligence. Lead the Data and Analytics Culture to build a future-fit workforce that values and adopts data-intelligent decision-making across all levels.

This is an exciting new role in the Data & Analytics, which is tasked to deliver maximum value from data to drive business and organization performance.
Role Profile
This role will focus on leading a DevOps team to manage portfolio of data and analytics products to ensure smooth operations of data & analytics products. DevOps is integral part of Solution Factory offering to maintain analytics products and deliver value to business by on time delivery of data refreshes.
To be successful, the candidate should thrive working with both vendor teams and Product teams. The candidate will also coordinate with the Delivery Leads, Product Managers to ensure IT Service Management delivered to UniOps SLAs.
Key Accountabilities
Team Leadership – Supervise, Lead DevOps team of service managers and multi-vendor application support teams to ensure smooth operations of the DevOps products.
Service KPIs reporting framework and track KPIs to meet UniOps SLA for Incident Management, On-Time-delivery following IT Service Management principles.
Collaborate – Work with Product Managers, Delivery Leads to devise optimal application support strategy and deliver smooth BAU operations and periodic service review.
Manage third parties delivering application management service and act as a point of escalations for issues related to application management and DevOps Processes and ensuring appropriate resources are engaged.
Engage third parties & manage resources for smooth delivery of BAU service.
Own and execute strategies for effective transition-to-service (T2S) processes following UniOps framework and ITIL best practices.
Own and manage cyber security/info-sec compliance for BAU Products, technical upgrades, keeping environments current and aligned to Technical Design Authority Guidelines.
Continuous cost optimisation for products in BAU for responsible cloud services consumption.
Continuous improvement feedback to delivery leads for continuously optimise the Product Architecture and designs for smooth BAU management.
All About You -
Essential:
Extensive 15+ years of in application support, IT Service management, specifically within data and analytics environments, working with cross functional and multi-location teams.
Bachelor's degree in a professional or management discipline
Experience and deep understanding of Agile/DevOps/ lifecycle from conception to delivery in Data & Analytics area
Technical knowledge on Cloud based data and analytics tools and technologies, specifically Azure, Data Lake Store, SQL DW and Hadoop
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills to effectively run project communications and partner expectations at all levels of the organization.
Makes reasonable judgments quickly and adjusts thinking to assimilate new information.
Possesses highly effective analytical thinking to develop solutions, make recommendations, or propose action plans.
Ability to learn new tools, technologies, and process quickly.
Self-motivated problem solver; able to thrive in a dynamic and customer-focused environment.
Strong organizational and troubleshooting skills with precise attention to detail.
Negotiation and influencing skills.
IT knowledge to enable interactions with a multi-disciplinary IT team, including knowledge of architecture management, security management, quality management, capacity management, application development and testing, lifecycle management, service level management, IT operations.
Experience of working in a global IT organization with multi-sourced and offshore environment
Experience and cultural awareness required to take a role in a globally distributed team.
Shown track-record of managing DevOps operations for large and complex global projects.
Good understanding of current and emerging Cloud technologies in Information management, and their potential business impact
Thorough understanding of applicable standards and procedures including technical, quality, safety, and financial matters across all areas of service delivery
Desirable:
Professional certification (ITIL, Agile methodologies, PMI, CMI, Chartered IT Professional etc.) is a Plus
Domain expertise in Analytics IT Service Management
Working knowledge in any of D&A technicalities such Informatica, ADF, ADLS, Hadoop etc.
