Salary: 44-64 K gross depending on background and experience

JOB PURPOSE
The Regional Design Centre (RDC) Foods North Europe, DACH & East Europe department is responsible for the on-time and in-full project delivery for innovations, renovations, and cost-effectiveness projects for all retail DRY, IMF, and WET savoury technology products groups in Europe. It drives functional excellence whilst effectively combining relevant culinary, nutritional, and technology skills deploying existing technologies.
As a Product & Process Technologist/Developer you are part of the team responsible for delivery of material (ingredients) complexity reduction program, covering all platforms (Scratch Cooking, Dressings, Snacking and Local Jewels) of Retail and Unilever Foods Solutions (UFS) portfolio (UFS = one of the world's leading global Foodservice) in the region and providing cost reduction opportunities to the business.
WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE?
End to product and process development and implementation of a product in respective technology and platform.
Product development workstream leadership, delivering according to the business and product brief, focused on material complexity reduction (DMP: Destiny Material Portfolio).
Provide technical input to project scoping, considering ingredients functionality and product performance assessment of proposed alternative materials.
Validate in application alternative materials, according to the established protocol.
Perform product and ingredient physical-chemical analyses.
Design and validation of processes in Pilot Plant scale, upscaling and implementation in the industrial scale, at the destiny location. Collaboration with Unilever Supply Chain teams for implementation in-house or at a collaborative manufacturing network.
Development of product specification according to all relevant requirements and standards.
To contribute to risk- and environmental assessments.
Implementation of projects in Sourcing Units (Sus) and Collaborative Manufacturers (CMs) based on Design specifications ensuring compliance with:
- Consumer Safety Framework and relevant Good Manufacturer Practice
- Internal procedures and documentation standards
To apply standard practices to ensure quality of reporting in data management systems. In silico first approach (start with computer and later go to the kitchen) using available tools Minerva, predictive models etc.
To contribute to group and site culture and team building.
Act proactively and manage your workload efficiently within project timelines.
Work in multi-functional teams (with Supply Chain, Procurement, Marketing, Finance and other associated functions).
To ensure full compliance to the Unilever Code of Business Principles and all relevant SHE, QA and other policies and legislation.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
MBO, HBO degree in the area of Food Technology/Chemical Engineering/Process Engineering or related.
Proven experience in the content matter.
Bias for Action.
Passion for High Performance.
Experience in working in cross-functional teams.
Must be a very good team player and must have strong team leadership skills.
Creativity and innovative approach to problem solving.
Good verbal communication skills.
Effective working in virtual teams.
