We are a passionate team of over 350 data experts, data scientists, information experts, technical specialists, and business analysts. We operate as ‘One D&A’, made up of Global engagement and expertise teams, based in our key hubs including India, the UK, and US, and local UniOps in Market D&A teams, based in our key markets. Together, we combine the best of global for scale and efficiency, and local for intimacy and impact.

Our key objectives as D&A are to:

Set the Unilever data strategy and lay the foundations to maximise the value of our data​. Deliver the connected Data Platform to accelerate access to integrated and trusted data at scale across the company for analytics and decisions​. Embed core data and analytics capabilities, leading to automation, AI, and Big Data to boost Unilever’s decision intelligence. Lead the Data and Analytics Culture to build a future-fit workforce that values and adopts data-intelligent decision-making across all levels.

Who You Are and What You'll Do

The Product Owner plays a key role within the Data & Analytics team and will oversee the entire product development process and work with a variety of teams such as stakeholders, scrum masters and product developers to ensure the final product meets the defined requirements and preferences. The Product Owner will gather feature requests, schedule releases, and coordinate sprints as well as developing ideas for product features.

  • Maintain Product backlog and prioritise based on technical feasibility and associated benefits

  • Ensure healthy sprint planning velocity by ensuring user stories are created in Jira

  • Manage the technical teams to drive on time delivery and support the technical team with issue resolution

  • Manage Product support triaging, response, resolution and communication

  • Leads the daily defect management call (and other agile calls as needed) to ensure the third-party vendor is continually briefed and fixes are managed on a prompt basis

  • Responsible for Business-As-Usual (BAU) activities post support

  • Creates conceptual prototypes based on the agreed business requirements

  • Leads user testing and rollout

  • Analyses problem areas with the business and partners with technical teams to define solutions

  • Manages stakeholder expectation and efficient communication during the solution design and delivery phase

  • Maintain Product RAID and proactively drive actions to resolve. Escalates key risks and issues up to product manager and Senior Manager on a timely basis to ensure effective resolution

  • Co-ordinates different teams including direct reports, other D&A teams and 3P vendors to ensure a synced-up approach to deliver

  • Works closely with Unilever Operation in Market and other D&A teams to ensure successful delivery of the roadmap, as per commitments to the business, and ensure the decision process is seamless

  • Track and Report Usage Statistics

  • Supports with tactical value / benefits tracking once the product is live

  • Supports in tracking key customer metrics e.g. turnover, CAGR and measuring impact of project on said metrics

  • Works closely with the Product Owners across other workstreams and the Product Manager to ensure continual knowledge transfer and lessons learned

  • Ensure adherence to SLA by 3PP and drive user satisfaction

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline with 4+ years of experience in product development and experience with Data & Analytics

  • People management experience strongly preferred

  • Strong technical expertise to dissect data/analytics solutions and “know what good looks like”

  • In-depth knowledge of agile process and principles

  • Demonstrable knowledge of visualization tools like PBI, Webapp or other data blending tools

  • Previous CPG / retailer facing experience, ideally with exposure to Category Management a plus!

  • Exposure and good learning in Data Science

  • Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Experience in working in cross functional teams
