Role Title: Unilever International (UI) Business Development Manager – Markets (Seeding + Exports) - Fixed Term Contract for 6 months

About marketing in UI:

Marketing in UI will own and drive the growth from 1bn to 5bn by:

  • Building leading market share positions in S.M.I.L.E. (Small Island Landlocked & Extreme) geographies to serve underserved geographies - combination of digital + in store execution
  • Serving underserved diaspora and religious population with the right innovations, festival marketing activation and building a strategy to serve these underserved consumers
  • Creating new innovations and marketing programs to serve underserved channels such as Corporate Partnerships, Govt ^ & NGO (GIN), Cross Border e-commerce, Discounters etc
  • Serving underserved brands by building a global model to seed, incubate and scale brands especially in Health and beauty, Ecom and modern trade
  • Building new niche and underserved categories like lip care, hand care, sun care, face care, dressings in D&E, Surface cleaning etc.

Marketing in UI is digital driven with 90% spends online across social, search, performance marketing with a high focus on high ROI marketing

Role Responsibilities

Marketing & Strategy:

  • You will lead the UI (Unilever International) Philippines Team across marketing, key account management, new business development and operations, the incumbent will execute end to end management of various business initiatives in country
  • UI’s future growth will come from brand building at scale in the market by being the best in class in global digital marketing across search, social, performance marketing and moving to the final ultimate phase of direct to consumer and first party data
  • You will work with the regional and global marketing team, digital marketing excellence, marketing culture and organisation, a culture of consumer and customer obsession and work to be a pioneer in the world of digital marketing
  • You will engage and interact with the Unilever Philippines customer development and marketing community across all business groups to drive full alignment and engagement and craft UI’s role in the new unilever BG/BU world
  • The No.1 Responsibility for the UI Philippines Lead is to scale brands in market to become segment and channel leaders

Local Consolidation Export:

  • You’ll drive end-to-end management of Local Consolidation Export initiatives and manage existing business within Philippines. With over 15 million overseas Filipinos, your role will be to continue bringing to them the flavour of home, through our coveted brands like Knorr, Creamsilk, Sunsilk and Sinigang.
  • You’ll coordinate across multi-functional teams to bring projects to life and drive business growth.
  • Ensure strict compliance to governance and mandate whilst leading, mapping and developing business opportunity for export.

Distributor Management:

  • You’ll lead the business development and key account teams to analyse the market and lead cross-functional UI teams to land innovations in market fast with impact.
  • You’ll drive end-to-end management of brand seeding initiatives and manage existing business within Philippines and coordinate across multi-functional teams to bring projects to life and drive business growth.

Retailer management:

  • Works closely with customers to implement the business plan. Works in close collaboration with the Category Team for the category input, and with customer marketing & brand teams for the specific banner/channel plan
  • Develop and then implement the optimal integrated promo plan (incl. selling the plan to the customer) and manage promo investments.
  • Manages customer promo investment with the customer ensuring all MAP accruals input are completed in a timely manner.
  • Provide clear objectives and deliverables for the Operational team

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Be a strategic, highly adaptable and entrepreneurial person
  • Embrace a high growth mindset, with strong love for consumers, shoppers and customers
  • Have excellent financial acumen and analytical skills
  • Have excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills with senior stakeholders
  • Have experience working and leading in cross-functional teams
  • Over 10 years’ experience in FMCG industry in building brands globally, driving digital marketing, Customer Development and Trade Marketing
  • You are a maverick, you don’t take no for an answer, you pioneer and are consumer obsessed
  • Strong network with customers and senior stakeholders in the Unilever business
  • Deeply collaborative and work and win with others
  • Have attention to detail and have a passion for execution
