Role Purpose...
The global market for telecoms WAN and LAN networks is undergoing a major transition as new Software Defined WANs replace traditional IP-VPN MPLS networks, with growth in cloud managed Software Defined LANs and Branch products., and with the convergence of edge security and SD-WAN (SASE). Digital transformation, accelerating cloud adoption and hybrid working are driving the need to re-think and re-architect Enterprise networks and security, in consequence, demand is accelerating for Vodafone Business Software Defined products.

As part of the Vodafone Business Products and Services Organisation, this Global Product Manager role sits within our SD-Networking/Fixed Connectivity product portfolio.. The Global Product role will focus on a particular product or set of products where they will have full E2E accountability, acting a ‘mini-CEO’. They will report directly into the Senior Product Manager for one or more product line(s) or a product family.

The purpose of this role is to provide E2E Global Product Lifecycle Management for Vodafone Business Software Defined Networking products, specifically Global Products that form the Cisco Catalyst product line which is considered a full stack offer that supports LAN, SD-WAN and SASE products under a single pane of glass. The role holder will work with local OpCo product managers to ensure their centralised global products are fully relevant and integrated into these markets with a consistent specification and experience. They will also work with other Global Product Managers accountable for Managed Services and related products..

With us you will...
- Ensure a relevant and ambitious product strategy (~3-year horizon) and own the Product Plan (18 Months) in line with the global business product portfolio, family, line and commercial priorities
- Full ownership and accountability for the product commercials, business case and product roadmap
- Capture and translate global customer needs into clear product capabilities and features. Ensure a Customer First mindset, building a clear view of your CX product vision and signature experiences
- Focus on ‘total product design’ to ensure all E2E requirements are captured including quality, safety, regulatory and sustainability
- Create and maintain global product roadmap, ensuring alignment with Local Product Managers. Ensuring local market requirements are captured and integration, launch and go-to-market resources and budgets are planned and ring-fenced
- Overseeing the agile product development phase to ensure necessary governance, funding and key deliverables are achieved on time and to quality, working with their respective Technology Product Lead
- Acts as ‘chief publicist’ for their product to ensure all Local Market Readiness and launch requirements are consistent, scalable and aligned
- Identifying/working with product partners and determining how they will support the creation of new products
- Manage all in-life and end-of-life requirements to optimize global product performance, capability and
- commercials, initiating resolving actions where necessary
- Ensures alignment with SAFe framework and methodology for all steps of the PLCM process

It would be nice if you have...
- Business to business product management experience in a relevant industry
- Experienced managing products in the following domains SD-WAN, SASE, LAN, MPLS, Business Internet, Mobile Private Networks, market knowledge, at a centralised global/regional level (Preferred)
- Requires particular focus on customers at a global level whilst appreciating any local nuances. Able to develop CX vision and signature experiences, SLAs and targets considering the current product health
- Able to manage and understand global customer trends
- Natural ability to lead on behalf of their product on a global scale
- Drives senior functional stakeholders to align with their product strategy and requirements
- Highly proficient at managing global product plans and commercial requirements for a global product/s
- Requires ability to manage P&L and commercials globally for their product
- Excellent product knowledge particularly at a global level. Able to spot global product and technology trends
- Good understanding of key enabling product technologies
- Able to manage and work with stakeholders who may have conflicting requirements e.g. different OpCos
- Engages local stakeholders regularly on all aspects of their product and includes their feedback in the key PLCM phases
- Appropriate experience in leading and motivating virtual teams and the ability to maintain the right balance between tactical and strategic activity
- Agile product development and delivery experience (e.g. SAFe, Spotify, Scrum) and qualifications
