What you’ll do
Our Fixed Devices team leads a portfolio of consumer internet gateways to support the Vodafone markets with their fixed line offerings.
- Lead the definition of an harmonized platform that allows to simplify the development and rollout of new services across different Internet Gateways, in line with Industry Standards, where Vodafone is taking a lead role
- Defining architecture of Home Gateways in the context of deploying new services
- Responsible for the architecture for connecting to CPE using new standards (USP)
- Representation of Vodafone in the standardization forums for fixed industry
- Business owner and gatekeeper of platform strategy, architectural roadmap as well as platform requirements in the context of integration of services in the CPEs
- Lead design and specification of new architectures & features and drive towards implementation across device portfolio
- Lead implementation of architectural projects & platform changes from specification to successful product launch
- Acts as subject matter expert for application integration architectures for our CPEs (Lifecycle Management of services) in line with industry standards and best practices
- Secure senior management sponsorship for key initiatives by demonstrating impact to Vodafone’s business
- Work with markets and partners to execute our strategy effectively
- Participation on RFQs for new products and services, representing the architecture team
- Job may require some travel (not on a regular basis)
Who you are
- Degree in Engineering or related field
- Knowledge of fixed devices industry, including different access technologies DSL, Cable and Fibre
- Understanding CPE protocols and related standards (USP, TR-181)
- Knowledge of embedded systems and CPEs/routers
- Architect mind to define software solutions
- Programming skills (preferably C, scripting) - programming is not the main task but some knowledge is required
- Track record in delivery as product architect
- Good communication and influencing skills
- Knowledge of Linux and software stacks for Internet Gateways, preferably open source (openWRT, RDK-B, etc)
- Experience defining APIs and cloud
- Knowledge CPEs architecture, and some knowledge of network elements (ACS, etc)
- Being able to communicate clearly with Senior Stakeholders, translating the technical jargon into business language
- Proficiency in English and Portuguese required
