IoT, Messaging & AI Presales Sr. Engineer

Role Purpose

IoT, Messaging, and AI Presales Sr. Engineer is responsible for driving revenue by collaborating closely with customers to understand their business, marketing, and operational needs, which can be addressed using Vodafone's IoT, Messaging, and AI solutions. This role involves providing technical and business expertise, developing tailored solutions, and supporting the sales process through impactful presentations, proposals, and proof-of-concept demonstrations. The position requires strong collaboration with sales teams, product owners, and key customer stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction and business growth.

Role Purpose

Customer Engagement and Solution Design
• Understand customer requirements and provide tailored solutions leveraging Vodafone’s IoT, Messaging, and AI products and services.
• Act as the technical subject matter expert (SME) to bridge the gap between business needs and technical capabilities.
• Design end-to-end IoT, Messaging, and AI solutions, including data pipelines, model deployment strategies, messaging workflows, and scalability considerations.
• Develop and present technical proposals, demonstrations, and proofs of concept (PoCs) to showcase the value of Vodafone solutions.
• Maintain a strong understanding of key regulations, data privacy, and governance considerations for critical deals.
Collaboration and Enablement
• Collaborate with sales teams to identify opportunities and drive solution selling.
• Work closely with product owners to deliver market insights and act as the voice of the customer/segment within Vodafone.
• Assist in the transition of customer solutions from pre-sales to delivery by providing detailed briefings and setting clear expectations.
• Train sales teams on IoT, Messaging, and AI solutions to ensure they are equipped to discuss capabilities effectively.
Market and Technical Insights
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and market trends in IoT, Messaging, and AI to ensure competitive offerings.
• Provide feedback to product teams to improve products and align them with customer demands.
Operational and Reporting Responsibilities
• Respond to requests for information (RFIs) and requests for pricing (RFPs).
• Provide management with regular reports on IoT, Messaging, and AI sales performance, including figures and insights by segment.
• Ensure consistent achievement of revenue targets in assigned enterprise business segments to execution.

Qualifications

Education
• Bachelor’s Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience
• 2+ years of experience in a presales, technical consultancy, or solution architect role in IoT, Messaging, or AI fields.
• Proven track record in designing and delivering IoT, Messaging, and AI solutions for enterprise customers.
• Familiarity with Vodafone’s IoT and Messaging product portfolio and AI technologies.
Skills
• Expertise in IoT frameworks, messaging platforms, and AI/ML technologies.
• Customer relationship management, problem-solving, and strong communication abilities.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to link technical capabilities to customer needs.
