IT Software Engineer Process Data Management

Job Responsibilities

• Global co-responsibility for the conceptualization, further development, and operation of application solutions, interfaces, and services in the area of process data and time series data management
• Lateral leadership of colleagues and our external partners
• Control and qualification of suitable systems, providers, and further development of the entire architecture
• Coordination of daily business, optimizations, lifecycle management for the applications in the area of responsibility
• Coordination of QA, system and integration tests, and documentation
• Consideration of overarching aspects such as security, availability, and maintainability, scalability of platforms, integration into the existing environment
• Ensuring the data quality of process data applications in collaboration with the specialist department. Coordination and further development of global application support
• Leading necessary process, interface, and system analyses while observing set milestones
• Further development of the sourcing and operating model in the context of system support and project activities

Job Requirements

• Completed university degree (Master, Diploma, Bachelor) in Technical Computer Science / General Computer Science, Automation/Engineering Sciences or comparable qualification and experience
• Profound knowledge in Aveva OSIsoft ecosystem, especially PI System and PI Asset Framework, or in comparable process data and time series management systems
• Technical knowledge and experience with data management systems: PI AF, PI Web API, historian systems
• Experience with industrial communication protocols (OPC, OPC UA, MQTT, etc.)
• Knowledge in the scaled operation of many Windows servers, use of automation and configuration management software such as Ansible, Terraform
• Experience in cloud platforms e.g. Azure and Cloud Native & Open Source technologies: Message Broker Kafka especially connectors, Kubernetes, Microservices architecture
• High affinity for technology trends for data provisioning (Big Data, Streaming Analytics, Data Analytics) and data visualization (PI Vision, PI Datalink, PI Web API, Grafana)
• Experience in modern IT delivery processes, agile requirements engineering, and project work
• You have very good English skills (spoken and written), German skills are an advantage
